Welcome! I am glad you’re here. I work with stressed-out, worried, and overwhelmed humans of all ages, with special focus on adults in the early stages of parenthood, and the young children they love. People I work with are smart, thoughtful, and caring, but find themselves feeling alone, afraid that there is something wrong with them or their child because they struggle to feel happy, connect, and to enjoy life.
As a therapist, I meet you where you are, with acceptance, humor, and compassion. I bring to our relationship clinical skills in many areas that might be helpful – trauma, anxiety, perinatal and postpartum mental health, attachment, early childhood development, play therapy, sandtray, among others. You bring a multitude of strengths, experiences, and hopes. Together, we will look at what works and what is still a work in progress, and create a road map for growth. This may include individual therapy with you or your child, family work with your partner, parents, or children, parent coaching and education, or any combination that best meets your unique needs.
For the therapy “nerds” interested in the alphabet soup of credentials, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maine, having received my MSW from Boston University. I have worked with clients ages 0-70 in outpatient community mental health, in elementary and middle schools, as well in child care centers doing early childhood mental health consultation and therapy. I am trained by PSI on perinatal mental health, as well as trained in TF-CBT, ARC, DBT, and other modalities for children and adults. I am working towards credentialing as a play therapist, and use many playful interventions in my work with children.
